The snare wire for a 14" Radio King snare drums utilizing the clam shell style strainer (used from the 1940s through the early 60s) has 16 strands, an overall length of 15 7/8", and a strand length of 15" (including the soldered area on each end-plate). Both end-plates have a 1/4" hole in the center for attachment of the wire to the strainer frame via a screw. Puresound's Vintage Series snare wires are designed not only to replace worn and no longer available wires on vintage snares, they are also designed to enhance the performance of those classic drums.
