The snare wire for a 14" W.F. Ludwig Concert snare drum with 3 screw mounting has 16 strands, an overall length of 15 3/4", and a strand length of 14 7/8" (including the soldered area on each end-plate). One end plate has a centered 3/16" hole, while the other end plate has two 3/16" holes spaced 1 inch on center, all used to attach the snare wire unit to the strainer frame via 3 screws. Puresound's Vintage Series snare wires are designed not only to replace worn and no longer available wires on vintage snares, they are also designed to enhance the performance of those classic drums.
